Praying for 2017

Kingsland Family,

I hope you enjoyed the snow…we loved it at the Fiordelise home, but we’re also glad to see it melt away and life return to normal. 67 degrees is going to feel great today.

Make plans to worship at Kingsland this Sunday and pray about friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors to invite to join you. I will continue a message called, “Developing Good Habits in 2017.” I hope that each of us will get back into the habit of Bible reading, praying, faithful church attendance, serving, giving, witnessing, and fellowshipping together, as a body of believers in the new year. Our goal at Kingsland is to facilitate opportunities for you and your entire family to do those very important things through our church. It has been said, “the local church is the hope of the world,” and I believe that is true. We have a huge responsibility as believers to share God’s love with those around us. We can’t expect politicians, celebrities, political programs, or anyone/anything else to save our nation…Only God can do that, and he will if we ask him to do so.

We are currently in the process of finalizing the 2017 calendar, which will be full of events and regularly scheduled programs designed to reach lost folks with the gospel, and disciple/train/strengthen believers. I pray that you will get more involved than ever before because I believe you need it more than ever and the people surrounding you do too.

Our Church Council will meet briefly after church in the worship center, immediately after the morning worship service, to begin the process of bringing on our next pastoral staff member. Please join me in praying about that tremendously important task.

I sent a letter this week to our church leaders that suggested 42 prayer concerns for Kingsland moving into the new year. I prayed over each item on that long list today, and am asking all of our leaders to do the same. We need God’s intervention…. We need his fresh touch… We need his guidance and power. Let’s pray for God to move in a powerful way, in our lives personally, and for 2017 to be a break-out year for Kingsland Baptist Church!

God bless,

Pastor Pat
