I’m looking out my office window across the street where many folks will be fed tonight in our Family Life Center, and I’m feeling so thankful for the individuals who sacrifice their time and energy to make it happen every Monday night. Yesterday in my message from Psalm 50, I spoke about people in our church who are faithful. Faithfulness is a rare and precious quality in 2019, and right now I just want to thank all our leaders and workers who serve and give of themselves so faithfully at KBC. You may remember Doug Pietrowski gave an announcement after church about us needing a few more nursery workers for Sunday school. I’ve not heard about the response yet, but I believe that God will do what He has always done around here; provide faithful folks to get the job done.
Yesterday after church, we were blessed by our youth and their leaders who provided lunch for us. I’m thankful that we have faithful teenagers in this church who are happy to serve! I’m also blown away by the generosity of our members who donated more than $1,400 to assist students going to summer camp. On Wednesday, we’ll be here for our mid-week programs at 6:30 pm; all of which are led by our faithful workers! Next Sunday, we’ll be back at 9:30 and 11 am providing first-class ministry at KBC, and once again we’ll be mobilizing dozens of workers for volunteer positions such as: greeting, security, teachers, ushers, care group leaders, activity leaders, outreach leaders, nursery, KIDZONE, children’s class, youth classes, adult & senior adult classes, singers, musicians, Audio/visual, video, $ counters, and so much more! I just want to say thanks to all our workers for being so faithful! I want to say thanks to everyone who tithes faithfully each week. Thank you to all who give and give and give and rarely ask for anything in return. We couldn’t do what we do without you doing what you do faithfully.
I love you in the Lord and thank God for you. The one word of encouragement I would offer is that God sees your sacrifices, and He will bless you for all you’re doing. In my life, I’ve served as a volunteer longer than I have as a paid staff member here, and God has been so faithful to me. I can offer personal testimony to the reality that God blesses those who serve faithfully…He has been so good to me for so long. There are a million things you could be doing other than serving your church, but I believe there is almost nothing that would ever be more important. Your service is noticed and appreciated! My prayer is that you will continue to “serve the Lord with gladness.”
Have a blessed week!
